NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PORTAL (NSP)
National Scholarship Portal is a single integrated online platform to provide various types of scholarship related services to students in order to simplify the entire scholarship process. It has been launched by the Government of India to provide a single platform for every type of scholarship by the Central and State government. Students can apply for the scholarships through the official NSP website or the NSP mobile app. The primary aim of the portal is to simplify the entire process by enabling a Simplified, Mission-oriented, Accountable, Responsive and Transparent ‘SMART’ system. Objective of National Scholarship Portal
The main objective of the NSP scheme is to make sure of on-time scholarship disbursement, to provide a single platform for all types of scholarships by the Central and State Government. Also, to eliminate duplication in the process, and to simplifying the application process as the students would require to apply once, they wouldn’t have to apply multiple times for multiple scholarships.

National Scholarship Portal Registration
In order to apply for the NSP scholarship the educational institute you are studying in has to be registered on the portal otherwise you will not be able to apply. The educational institutions can register on the portal, if it is not registered. Follow the below mentioned steps for National Scholarship Portal Registration. The two major steps firstly have to do National Scholarship Portal registration and then after that have to do National Scholarship Portal login. The entire process is mentioned below-
Process to do the National Scholarship Portal Registration-
- Firstly, go to the official website of NSP that is scholarships.gov.in.
- Once you land on the homepage of the official website, go to the top of the homepage and now click on ‘New Registration ‘.
- After that read all the mentioned guidelines and you will find ‘Continue ‘ option at the bottom of the page. Once you have carefully read the all the guidelines then click on the ‘Continue ‘ option.
- Then after you will be required to fill all the necessary details. After which you will be required to click on ‘Registration ‘.
- Once you click on the ‘Registration’ then on your registered mobile number you will receive your application ID and password.
National Scholarship Portal Login
- Now once you are done with the registration process then you will have to click on the login option from the NSP website for the National Scholarship Portal Login.
- To do the NSP login Enter the application ID and password that you have received after the completion of registration on your mobile number.
- Once, you have entered the application ID and password then you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
- Now, once you are on the password page then you will have to change the previous password.
- After you have changed the password then the applicant’s dashboard will be displayed on the screen.
- From the applicant’s dashboard click on the ‘online Application Form’ to apply.
- Now, fill all the details properly and then you will have to click on ‘save and continue ‘.
- After that you need to add the scheme details, along with that your contact details and upload the required documents.
- Once, you are done with that, it is preferable to click on ‘save as draft ‘ and then re-confirm.
- After you are totally confirmed the click on ‘Final Submit ‘.

National Scholarship Portal document for Registration
- The previous year’s education certificate of the student would be required to apply for scholarship.
- Aadhaar Number
- Income certificate as per the instructions mentioned in the respective scholarship.
- Domicile certificate as per the instructions mentioned in the respective scholarship.
- Caste certificate (as required)
- Bank passbook
- Student’s passport size photo.
- The bonefide student certificate would be required to apply if the applicant’s school or Institute is situated in a different place from the domicile certificate.
The NSP Scholarship Mobile App
The Government of India with the objective to provide quick and smooth application process for the students has launched the NSP mobile app in the year 2018. The app is available at the Google Play Store, and can be downloaded from there. Students can directly apply for scholarship via the app too! Other than applying for the scholarship the app also offers services such as scheme study, eligible scheme identification, NSP Login, student registration, documents upload and tracking status of the application.
